Maidaan is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language history biographical sports drama film directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios. The film is Based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962), it casts Ajay Devgn as the football coach Syed Abdul Rahim also regarded as the architect of Indian football, along with other stars Rudranil Ghosh, Gajraj Rao, and Priyamani. The music is written by A. R. Rahman. The film is planned for theatrical release on 23 June 2023.
